We seek to educate and foster student interest in the pursuit of future scientific careers in the fields of entomology, biology, and public health.
The Mobile Science & Vector Education Foundation is supported by the community and the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District.
In 2001, we received a donation: a 35 foot RV that was converted into the VecMobile, a mobile science lab, lovingly referred to as "the BugBus." The NEW Mosquito SWAT Lab is available at no-cost to students at all public and private elementary schools within our District's boundaries. Our programs provide fun and educational activities that promote student comprehension and learning. This educational experience addresses public health, environmental sustainability, and vector control while helping teachers reach science standard goals.
We are looking forward to our new set of wheels to carry us to many Los Angeles County schools. We are eager to receive our NEW AND IMPROVED Mosquito SWAT Lab (aka BUG BUS,) to bring a fresh new start to our programs for the school year!
